National SUP Festival (NSUPF)
This years National SUP Festival (NSUPF) will take place co-located with the national Windsurfing Festival (NWF) Fri 7 - Sun 9 Sept 2012. There will be separate Logo and poster in order to establish the (NSUPF) with its own identity. This event is all about participation and having fun with like minded people and not just designed for the hardy professional sponsored paddler.
There will be opportunities for the sponsored riders to get a good work out from the weekend, but equally disciplines/clinics aimed for the intermediate paddler and opportunities to mix with the industry and team riders to assist in your development into the sport, recreationally or otherwise.
There will be an opportunity to enter on Fri 7th Sept at 1100hrs into the Hayling Extreme Paddle, which consists of a run over 1 miles, cycle (mountain bike) for 3 miles followed by a paddle over 800m completed on an inflatable SUP (Max size 11ft). Distances are approx. Dependant on prevailing conditions. This is not just for the professional team riders. Its all about all inclusive participation just having fun on and off the water with like minded paddlers… (Limited entry of 50 on the day) plus prizes for fancy dress…

It also gives an opportunity for those windsurfers who own SUP’s to join in if the conditions are not favourable for windsurfing, enabling maximum participation on the water at all times in all conditions.
I have spoken to many who are already established within the SUP community and feel we have a variety of disciplines, which we can execute over the weekend, which caters for the established racers, surfers and newcomers alike. With 2 main classes National and Cruising Class.
We will conduct SUP taster sessions throughout the weekend alongside the windsurfing taster sessions.
The disciplines options will be confirmed according to the weather conditions nearer the time but to give you some idea of my thoughts:

Entry will be £40
- You will be able to join in any of the SUP disciplines.
- Free over night car parking for competitors only.
